When bridging over to Clemson their sophomore year make sure you meet with your kids academics advisor. And your kid needs to bridge over with at least a 3.5 or higher. Tri-County is a terrific school but when your kid finally moves over to Clemson there may be on campus housing problems as well as problems getting into the area of study Your kid wants to be in. A lot of this is due to budget cuts by the state. But Clemson freshman have an advantage over bridge students when choosing their field of study unless your kid comes in with a strong GPA. Don’t hesitate to go directly to the President’s office if you feel your kid is not being properly advised when bridging over and is not given a fair opportunity to go into the field of study of their choice.

Good luck to you your son or daughter that is in the bridge program. Being accepted in the bridge program at Clemson is quite an accomplishment too. Spots are limited. I hope they have an awesome Clemson experience. You should be proud of them.

Couple things, the GPA requirement is 2.5 rather than 3.5, Bridge students are already going to be living on campus in 2018 so bridging over and the housing thing shouldn't be an issue, and finally there shouldn't be an issue with getting into the field of study as they'll already be preparing for that in their first year.

At least the last part was that way when this thing first started, and Clemson doesn't really get as many state funds as people think we do.

The all got accepted to the University of Second Choice***

This raises a good question. Do bridge kids get to talk academic smack talk because they didn’t actually get into Clemson?

who weren't offered an acceptance to Clemson via the conventional route or through the Bridge program.

What do students at Clemson and South Carolina have in common? They both got accepted to South Carolina.

Is $CU still holding strong as the 4th best school in the state behind Clemson, Furman and Wofford or has it been surpassed by Winthrop, Lander, College of Charleston, Francis Marion and Erskine?
