Jan 20, 2017, 10:35 PM

Very impressed with VMI in the 2017 Inauguration parade...1,500 strong. Looked and sounded great. VMI alums must be very proud!

Also, very impressed with the US Army Old Guard...Excellent!

I always love it when the Citadel band pipers march down to

Jan 20, 2017, 10:48 PM

Memorial Stadium playing Scotland the Brave.

Makes me feel a little sad when we stomp 'em right after that.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Inteesting how MANY from both VMI & The Citadel did not

Marching in that large a formation is pretty difficult. You only really hear the drums and are in ranks 20 wide. Some of them probably didn't hear the order to eyes left or see the guidons go up to indicate it.

I was a keydet for obamas first inauguration. It is something to remember for all those Keydets.

The guys on the end closest to the reviewing stand are not supposed to eyes right.

Also I never heard a VMI cadet refer to themselves as keydets. Keydet was only the term used by sports teams. I guess a lot has changed since I graduated in '72.

I think I picked up using keydet from my dyke. Where they got it from I don't know. It was 39 years between our graduations and as I'm sure you know, things are much different.

That is both beautiful and awe inspiring.

I always loved seeing our Pershing Rifles perform. Haven't been to a game in a while, do they still do that?

Very impressive. Would be interesting to know the logistics getting them to DC. Assume it was by train, even then would take quite a few cars.

No, but I'm a '72 graduate. Entire corps has gone to last 4 inaugurations. When I was there the entire corp was about 1300 cadets. It is still less than 1700 and all "students" are in the corps.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Was so inspired by the VMI cadets I went back and...

...watched the movie Field of Lost Shoes again on Netflix.
