Bohemian Rhapsody

My wife and I just got back from seeing this awesome movie. I highly recommend all to go see it if you haven't already. Anyway, (light spoilers) there was a scene in the movie where they were coming up with the chant to "We will Rock You!". Brian May was explaining to Freddie Mercury about how the audience could be part of the show, and said "Can you imagine thousand of people doing this?". I leaned over and whispered to my wife "How about 80,000?" remembering the FSU game of 2009 when we all were doing the stomp-clap along to this song. I'm sure somewhere Freddie Mercury was proud to see that scene in the Valley. Anyway, in honor of the movie, and the Legend Freddie Mercury, I believe we should bring that back for either the Duke game, or even better, the Shamcocks game. We Will Rock the Valley!!!

Tiger Band played Another One Bites the Dust in Early 80's

Whenever the home game was out of reach for opponent, a band member with an electric bass guitar would start strumming the chords for "Another One Bites the Dust". A subtle and cool event for Tiger fans and my personal favorite Clemson Band memory as a fan ... a great memory.

Wife and I saw it last weekend and when we came out we saw another couple of that age we knew and we were all gushing over the movie. I told them I was thinking through the movie how sad it is that my boys, 12 and 13, will never be exposed to great rock music with screaming guitars, bass and drums because of the absolute no-talent garbage created from computers that substitutes as music nowadays. Now get off my lawn!

There's still a lot of great music out there - you just have to dig harder to find it. And you won't find any of it on the radio, thanks to the monopoly Clear Channel has. But it's out there, I promise.

yeah, several time frame issues occurred during the movie (one which you mentioned...which in reality, the song was actually done when Freddy still had the long hair and not short hair with a mustache, which is how they showed him in that scene). He also didn't tell his band mates about having aids until after Live Aid, and they never walked away from BMI records until 2011 or so I think (what they had accurate there though was the recording studio not wanting to release Bohemian Rhapsody). Think some of it was just trying to cram as much as they could in a 2 hour time fame and focus on all eras. Still was very well done for what they could do.
