Best craft brews in Greenville?

Hey all, coming down for Syracuse game and staying in downtown Gville. Haven’t been down since Troy game 2016, and since then have become a craft beer hound. Any breweries or beer bars that are must-see? My fav IPAs are Other Half and Trillium, but I’m also into interesting sours/stouts and open to trying anything.

Thanks and GO TIGERS!!!!!

Yee Haw and Fireforge brew in downtown Greenville. Several other places have multiple taps. I really enjoy Pour Taproom. Check out Golden Grove Farm and Brew if you get a chance on the way back from the game. Located in Pelzer/Piedmont off of 29 not far off Hwy 8. CU grads and have great beer. Very strong beers also. My favorite place locally. Good local bands too.

The Eighth State Brewing Co. on Augusta St.

Thomas Creek on Hwy 20 right out of downtown.

Anderson Baurnhaus in downtown Anderson if you’re into sours.

Yee-Haw is not a chain.

It is a small brewery in Johnson city, with a unique business model that often attaches to restaurants. Their Beer is great!

The Marzen at Swamp Rabbit Brewery is good.
Trifecta by Thomas Creek is also good

There are a lot of new breweries in the area and plenty of craft beer places.
Ask around town

I'll second Trifecta by Thomas Creek***

I'd check out birds fly south, just west of downtown greenville. There is a great taco restaurant in the same complex, can buy your beer and carry it on over there. Highly recommended.

Agreed on Birds Fly South

This was going to be my suggestion. They definitely bring a strong funky/sour game.
Also seeing good things being said about a new brewery called Eighth State who are doing sours, NE IPAs and even some BA stouts right off the bat (only been open to public a week and a half).

I didn't love much at BFS BUT - you CAN throw axes once

Although why drink beer when there is liquor?

For relaxing times, make it Suntory time

My friend Will owns Brewery 85. His taproom isn't downtown but a lot of his beers are. Try the "Quittin Time" and the "Yeoman" (term for original settlers in the upstate) beers.

Thanks all for the recommendations!! I’ll do some scouting on each of them - I’m particularly interested in the sound of Eighth State!

Cheers and GO TIGERS!!

Don't forget, will is a Clemson man and grad through and through.

Plus his beer is by far best in Greenville.
