Yes. The Trucculent Leprauchans came to Death Valley in '77 and walked away with a close win.

his big TE Ken McCaffy...looked like a gorilla but had very soft hands...caught everything near him...we never stopped that play...ND won a close one...payback came in 1979 in their house

Another big tight end (Irish name ...not McCaffy) I think caught a pass on like 3rd and 33 ...unreal! They were lucky to win that game and wouldn't have if we had not fumbled deep in their territory toward the end of the game.

Lots of mistakes by us & Joe coming in later in game to play after sitting out were our undoing.

I remember Dan Devine stated that he wasn't going to put up with all that noise. All our fans were fake clapping and it was deathly quiet until their offense took the field. That's the best game I've seen that we lost.
