Bear Bryant was coaching Alabama when I was a student

at Clemson. His third string could play with anyone, any day, and beat them. When I took my first job in Birmingham after graduating, people there told me that the Bear would call a recruit and simply ask"Do you want to play for Alabama." You said yes or no at that moment. No second chance. Now, this may have been true or not, but the way this recruiting is going, Dabo may have recruits beating the doors down to come and play for the Tigers! BTW, Our third string is pretty good now!

I knew a guy who played for bammer in the 70's. That's what he said. He was also the most arrogant pee rick that I have ever met. Talked about about when he played for Bear Bryant every other sentence.
