What a great experience for this team

and a win to boot in the first game. Have no idea how stiff the competition is but international basketball is strong in Italy. With only 2 real bigs playing KJ at 4 is interesting. Speaking of the bigs, good to see both Nnoko and Smith have good games. Playing very shorthanded without Blossomgame, Djambo and Djitte so I'll take some encouragement from this. Just arrived 33 hours ago and the 3 point line, paint and other rules are all international, so it appears we adjusted well. Played fast, which we'll have to do. No where to go but up :)

The Italy All-Stars must

be the Etruscan equivalent of the Washington Generals.........:~)

Seriously--this is a great trip and a great experience for this team and can only bring them closer together as they play "on the road" for an extended international trip. Valuable recruiting tool as well, I'd imagine.

Free throw shooting looks to be improved.***

Outrebounded them by 20 with 2 guys in double digits

Don't know if we had 2 guys do that in the past couple of years. I'll take that every night between Nnoko & Smith ~ 13 points & 24 boards!

I always thought Fields was underrated!

Not flashy, just a solid player ... I hope he gets some playing time this year ... share some time at point

Free throw shooting percentage has been our achilles heel...

Aug 11, 2013, 10:23 AM

for several years now. Back in the early 2000's we had a shooter (Merl Code maybe?) that shot in the high 90th percentile on his free throws. We need shooters like that again that can take the foul and cash in regularly. Then you can compete in ACC basketball.

Go Tigers!

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
