Lulz at Marcus Paige getting more votes than KJ

Also totally ridiculous for Roy Williams and Jamie Dixon, whose teams were either underperformed or just barely met expectations, to get more votes than Brownell. The UVa coach did a legitimately great job with a UVa team that nobody expected to win the regular season, but the other two actually coached their teams to sub- par seasons at their schools.

Roy Williams finished 2nd????!! ###!!! He has more talent on the bench than Clemson has starting. This is stupid and shows how biased the people voting are. Roy finished about where they thought they would. If Clemson had finished in 3rd, would BB have gotten more votes?

Bringing his team back from a horrid start. Not saying it's right, but that's probably what it's based on for those that voted that way.

with Hairston being an idiot over the summer.
indeed, when you practice with your best player and then he's gone, it changes everything. losing two of the top seven? that's a huge adjustment to make. i chalk up some of the early inconsistency to that
Roy said that Hairston was incredible in practice - most dominant he'd ever seen
Roy also said the off season was one of the worst times of his life

being the head coach at UNC and having the NC media fawn all over him.
I have no problem with Bennett winning the award as I feel he deserved it for how UVA has done this year. Brownell at least deserved second and far more than one vote.

because it's some state secret. However it is no surprise that a coach at UNC is second when almost half of the people voting are from NC.
http://www.wralsportsfan.com/my-ballot-and-the-voting-process-for-acc-postseason-awards/13467213/
To vote for the ACC awards and recognition, media members have to pay 10 dollars to join the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Currently there are 113 members and the strongest contingent of voters reside in North Carolina. There are 52 members of ACSMA in our state. Virginia is next with 20 with Florida the only other state reaching double digits in membership with 10. What about the newcomers? A combined 9 ACSMA members are in the home states of Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame.
But go ahead and tell me how a team finishes 1 spot below where it was predicted to finish and the coach is worthy of the second most votes for coach of the year, but the coach who finishes 8 spots higher than it was predicted (by these same people BTW) is only worthy of one vote.

And doesn't have more than 2 in any other state, so it makes sense most of them would be from NC.

Honestly this was a very mediocre season for the tarholes, and a very unimpressive coaching job by Huckleberry Hound.

They have ridiculous talent - at least as much as anybody.

While almost nobody looks the part anymore, they have the absolute cream of the crop as far as perceived talent coming out of high school. According to Rivals, here are the position rankings coming out of high school for their 10 deep: 4, 3, 16, 11, 11, 4, 19, 17, 6, and unranked. Whether they develop or pan out is one thing, but they certainly have players that every coach in America would love to have if they could.
I agree, they don't look as talented or as dominant as some of their better teams have, but they sure aren't hurting either. To me, hardly any teams look that good night-in, night-out anymore.
