FSU defense is overrated. They were #3 defense when we rung up 37 on them on the road last year. They are already moving their best LB to try and create a pass rush and the middle is weak. The key to our game is our defense.

Maryland got caught not self-scouting. Their OL was selling out run/pass and FSU knew which one on every play. Imagine what you could do as a DC with that?

The spread is an indictment of BC's defense...

IIRC, BC is giving up an average of 7 yards per play. Multiply that by the 82 snaps we're getting per game and you get close to 600 yards given up. More than we got vs. Syracuse, more even than vs. SC State.
I agree that the spread is a tad high, but I see where they got it.

yards between the 30's, and it won't beat us. if we let them get 6 and the chance for 7, it's a whole different ballgame. they can roll up 300 every game- if they can't punch it in the endzone.

I can see how this could be closer than point spread, but also how it could be larger. If we gear up to slow down the run, I hope our secondary can continue their fine play from last week @ Syracuse. I was highly impressed and would love to see the confidence gained from that game carried into this game and through the season. We need to stop the run first, and hopefully we can set the tone for the game by shutting them down early and forcing them to throw to keep up with our offense.
I hope we have no trouble with the BC defense, and as long as we score early I feel we can control the tempo and make them uncomfortable(by throwing more often). BC does usually give us as much trouble as anybody though, maybe this year we can finally put them away before the 4th quarter!!

Granted that would be 9-11 guys But still. They lost their only hopes in CJ Brown and Diggs and FSU didn't let up on them like Dabo would have and Maryland gave up.
