At the dirty Myrtle this week

And need an updated restaurant list from you fine folks. My in-laws keep talking about going to Benjamin’s later this week and I’m trying to figure out how to get out of that one. We went there 2 years ago because they have the all you can eat crab legs (which I don’t eat) and the food was terrible, awful and tasteless. My pa-n-law is one of those that when he thinks something is good he can’t fathom how nobody else can’t like it. I’m gonna have to just break it to them. Any new good restaurants around? Or old ones I haven’t tried. Been 2 years since we’ve been here.

If you want good seafood...

try Sarah J's in Garden City, the Chesapeake House in Myrtle Beach, or Ella's up in Calabash.
For more variety, give Art Burger a try.

Art Burger is awesome. Mr. Fish serves good seafood that is not AYCE. Of course, Sea Captains is special, too.

I live here and Driftwoods is our favorite seafood place. I don’t eat them either but they have all you can eat crab legs during the week. Not sure what night you’ll have to check on that.
For non seafood If you haven’t tried Dagwoods in Surfside that’s a good one. We always have to go there when we have family in town.

Don’t judge a book by its cover but Bangkok House is some of the best Thai I’ve had anywhere in the world. The wife and I went and were the only non Thai customers in the place. Very unassuming building however it was delicious.

the Conch Café on the beach in Surfside that is pretty good if you like sitting outside and viewing the beach and ocean while you eat. Finally and probably best is the Gulfstream Café in Garden City. It is very good and great view too.

Get out of Myrtle and go south to Murrells Inlet. For a more local old school feel go to Russell’s or Lee’s inlet kitchen. For more action get along the boardwalk, go to claw house or wicked tuna or the fish house. Sara J’s and Gulfstream are also good in garden city.

I really used to enjoy going to Parson's Table in North Myrtle. It was good enough that we would drive down from Ocean Isle every time we stayed there. I haven't been though for at least 8 years so not sure how good it still is...
