Are signees during the early signing period prevented from flipping?

Dec 16, 2018, 10:22 PM

Isn't it not binding until they sign their financial aid agreement or whatever documents athletes sign?

Isn't the letter of intent not binding until the NSD in February?

Players who sign during early period are bound ... unless

Unless they have a sick mother and need to be closer to home.

Seriously though, the early signing period LOI is totally binding and supersedes the traditional February event.

Lol at the first part and crap for the second part.

I really thought it wasn't binding until NSD. Really wanted the bowl season to open some kids' eyes.

Well not Tenn. and FSU commits. Apparently they don't need a bowl to eat the Trix they are selling.

if it wasn't binding it would effectively be the same thing

as a verbal commitment

Even with the new transfer rules, the LOI is binding

They are separate things. Even under the new rules, Belk would still require a release from the LOI. It’s a contract that requires him to complete one academic year. Without the release, another school couldn’t give him a scholarship for a year.

Officially or unofficially ??

Are you talking about "the little talk" Big Dex and CW42 have with recruits to make certain they are feeling comfortable with their offer? (e.g. "make them an offer they can't refuse" -- "you cannot say no to the people you love, not often.")

What's your definition of binding?
