Anybody here work somewhere where you answer calls for a 800

numbered line? And if so do you ever get calls with a recording loop of random sounds like water running, a boat horn, water lapping the side of a boat, kids playing in the distance etc? The loop with just play over and over if you stay on the line and no one ever answers.

I usually listen for 3-4 mins and then hang up. Our calls are recorded so any longer and the Wizard of Oz that listens to calls my start getting suspicious and I try to fly under the radar at work...you know so I can still spend the day here lol

When the analytics are ran yes, but when Oz listens he's gonna wanna know what I did for those 9 hours of listening to water running. I would hate to draw attention to my browser history logs at work lol

Well the reason I asked is because it's apparently it is a part of some scam quite similar to the movie Office Space.

Basically some person/s has figured out a way to scam the phone carrier industry. We've been getting these calls for months and could never figure out why.
