It’s an art. I spent a few minutes managing quality for Cerakoted components: uppers, lowers, rails, furniture, etc.

It’s not what I would call a viable side project.
The previous poster mentioned it being ceramic and it’s a pill. It pools, scales, runs and intensifies every imperfection of very porous aluminum surfaces. I have some contacts at Cerakote that can help you as a favor, but short of a robot sprayer and robust blasting process using ceramic beed (super fine mill), don’t. It would be easier to send non-lower parts to Cerakote or a provider. I know some good ones of you eant to t-mail. LMK

I had an AR15 coated (orange, white and purple, with a tiger paw on the mag well) for display by a guy in Aiken ... and it turned out really, really well.
