Anybody ever watch that old flick "Real Genius"?

I'm dating myself, but I'm wondering if "Real Genius" was actually, well, genius.

Because there's this scene in there where a kid walks into a classroom, and discovers all of the students and eventually even the professor have been replaced by tape recorders.

Fast-forward to the Coronavirus. Is this what we're about to see in football stadiums, with all the fans replaced by monitors and webcams, with the crowd and maybe even the players turned into one giant Zoom meeting?
