All this talk about "a legitimate" national championship...

.... and junk like that - my reaction.
I'm old. I remember back in the days long before there was the playoffs or BCS or anything else. And, I loved college football then.
Yes, I hope there will be a national championship game this year. But, if there isn't, it won't diminsh my love of football.
I want to see FSU go on the field and play. We won't compete for the NC, if there is one, but I still want to see them play. I want to see if Mike Norvell can get the kids disciplined and at least looking like a football team. I want to see if we can line up correctly, not have two men in motion, not jump offsides, etc. But, more than that, I want to see us win. I want to see who the QB will be, who the RBs will be. And, every Saturday I'll be glued to the TV (if we are on TV) watching and cheering for the Noles. I want us to win 11 games. I hope we will win 11 games. But, I don't expect us to win 11. And, when we lose our first game I'll be disappointed. But, I won't throw up my hands and quit watching footbll and cheering for my Noles.
Clemson is my #2 team. I think Clemson is set to have the best team in the history of the NCAA. Not an overstatement. I think the potential is that great. I REALLY want to see if they are as good as I think they will be. And, if they go 11-0 - with a bunch of blowouts included, and there are no bowl games, no championship series, nothing, then I will not be ticked off or mad or upset. I'll be disappointed, sure. But, I will still be able to say, "I just watched the best team in the history of college football play this year."
National championships are nice, but they aren't the only reason the game is played.
