Another fantastic effort tonight, and we didnt play great. Excellent D and shot it lights out, but were sloppy in the floor game, and still blew BC out. This is the second, impressive, 3 game streak we've had in the conference. Can we maintain this unlike the first time where we lost 5 of 7 after winning 3 straight?
Tech will be tough on Tuesday, they play excellent D and have 2 athletic bigs, something that has given us trouble. FSU may be the best team in the league. VT is falling back from their improbable hot start, then Tech at home.
All 4 are winnable, and losable. What have we learned since that first streak? Have we matured enough to close with a rush and enter tourney consideration? We're executing at a high level now, but we were also doing so earlier in the other 3 game streak, then just lost it.
Here's to this team learning and growing from that stretch in January. If they have, these last 2 weeks and the ACCT could be pretty meaningful and exciting!
There is a BIG difference between this streak and the previous streak. More players are now contributing; especially AL-Amir Dawes. His improvement has made a HUGE difference.
The key is Simms, he's the catalyst. When he plays well, we haven't lost in a while. But he's been streaky like everyone else. Dawes has shot brilliantly the last 2 games, but others will need to step up when he cools down. We have guys who can, and if they do, these next 3 weeks could be very interesting
