About the Non-conference opponent

There wouldn't be a heckuva big difference, but if it's between Citadel & Akron, I'd rather it be Citadel - even if Akron is allegedly a D-1 team. It simply doesn't get any lower than the Zips. A team (school) that nearly every year has to decide if it really wants to keep playing football. Remember when the Muschumpers tossed 'em in AFTER CU a couple of years ago (after W.Va got hurricaned out)? 6 people attended in torrential rain at Willie Brice. Terry Bowden's swan song. As for me, "Give me the Bulldogs - and let the Zips stay in OH!"

I’m hoping Citadel too. I think it do better for our SOS, since in conference stuff will be our weakness this year. Every little bit counts.

Since this apparently is a one time scheduling quirk and next year we go back to two divisions, our SOS only works as long as we win.Lose one game, you might get in but 2 loses and you go home.Biggest fear are the road games at Florida State, and Notre Dame.
Not saying we lose, but road games are always a concern.
