ACC/SEC: Clemson, FSU, Louisville and GT are taken....

I think DRad is grasping. What does the ACC offer the SEC that isn't already a better option in the SEC?
If the SEC commits to an ACC game, that is the same thing as committing to a 9th game with one of their own....either way it's adding a 9th permanent game right?
Think about it from the SEC Network's perspective....would the SEC Network rather broadcast Auburn vs. Wake or Auburn vs. Kentucky? How about Ole Miss vs. Syracuse or Ole Miss vs. Florida?
I won't even go into all the other variables like travel time and expense for team, the possibility of SOS becoming more important for playoffs, the lack of interest by SEC fans in attending a game at WF, SU, BC.....
One more thing....why would the SEC Network want their conference to add a 9th permanent game with an OOC opponent? The SEC Network would have to share that game's broadcast....that is lost money for the rich conference and you don't get rich by sharing.

First off -- TV wants every conference to have 9 games- SEC and ACC are the only ones that have fought this off so far
1) Coaches/Administrators in the SEC wouldn't want it because of the unbalanced conference schedule(home vs away
2) It severely limits the teams scheduling that have permanent non-conference rivals- UGA, UF, UK, USC
3) It allows schools to maintain the 7 home game model if they choose
4) Because of the other leagues going to 9 conf games, it's more difficult to get any of those to sched a BCS home and home making a SEC/ACC matchup as the only real alternative for both conf if they stay at 8 and the leagues are geographically connected
VT-TN; UNC-Auburn, NCSU-Miss, UVA-Mizz/A&M; Miami/Bama-- would definitely be marketable games/fun matchups plus some of those could rotate--

The other 10 members would like a 9th SEC game.
It is the same situation in the ACC:
GT, FSU, L-ville, and Clemson are opposed to a 9th SEC game.
The other 10 members would like a 9th ACC game.

He said this would work if you made the division champion the team with the best DIVISIONAL record.

Link? I doubt this seriously and here's why: The almighty SEC doesn't want to have to play any more games against the almighty SEC than it has too. Why? Because it increases their chances for a team like Bama, LSU, or Auburn to an additional game that could/would possibly eliminate them from the National Championship/Playoffs.. Im sure the SEC would rather have 8 conference games, 2 FCS schools, 1 mid major school, and 1 BCS opposition a year rather then to have to line up against themselves 1 more time each year..

Ole Miss, Vandy, Florida and Tennessee, I can tell you form direct first hand experience, these are all great trips. Passionate fan bases considering the teams are all largely medicore at best.
Nashville is an awesome city to visit and Oxford has some of the most attractive women I have ever seen on a college campus.
Along that same line, I wouldn't give you two cents for Starkville, Mississippi.

The SEC doesn't want to play another SEC game because they don't want the chance to lose another game. Basically they came out and said they needed to decrease the SOS. So your argument about the bottom half of the ACC makes it the perfect competition for the SEC.
On your idea that the SEC Network would lose money. The SEC Network is owned by ESPN. The same company that owns the ACC rights. The 9th game against a BCS team also allows teams to play an extra home game which will be broadcast on the SEC network. They would be splitting coverage with the ACC and ESPN would be broadcasting both.

for a non-conference game besides bowl games? I think it's something like 24 years or something crazy like that. That's SEC scheduling for ya.
