I don't think the 50 mil. exit fee would hold up in a court fight.
It smacks of Restraint of Trade, and the Federal Trade Commision would void it.

I was surprised to see Clemson support, although I think it was tied into the ND deal. However, I don't hold a J.D. (other than the liquid type,) so I don't know how it would hold up in court.

(or whatever $$ amount the other teams that have switched conferences have had to pay)? Something tells me those programs had a few lawyers consider other legal options before shelling out that cash.
To me, the dollar amount is moot; it all depends on the contractual agreement of "I will pay X if I do Y."
Plus, with the SEC contracts and profit sharing, how long would it take Maryland to recoup that loss? I bet it's less than 10 years.
