I just checked ESPN and Rivals and Chase Brice was a 4 star.

I don't have access to 247 at work if that is what you are using.

Either way, calling him a 3 star if only by one service is a stretch.

No matter what stars are aligned, our staff has the ability to spot talent. That has always been a consistent fact with them.

Define "not star" players.

Cervenka was our most talked about lineman and probably made the most impact on the offensive line.

Muse and Wallace are the starting safeties.

Simmons was the most talked about player in our back seven in both playoff games and dominated the Cotton Bowl. Also I'm pretty sure he played more snaps than anyone on our defense this past season.

"Serviceable" players are guys who play a few snaps to let starters rest.

If a team has "serviceable" players in starting roles, that team doesn't dominate every team they play.

Well there is no way that:
Etienne is better than Damien Harris
Joseph is better than Anfernee jennings
Simmons is better than Xavier McKinney
and so on and so forth, I mean they were all recruited byt and play for ALa "by GOD freaking" Bama, they are all world and never lose.
Except they did in spectacular fashion!

Etienne was a composite 4 star..

3 star by Rivals...
https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2017/travis-etienne-11589

But 4 star by 247 and ESPN.

Rivals bases heavily on their own camps...and apparently fake profiles that list Alabama.
