2017 Football Schedule and the last 13 years' Release Dates

Jan 23, 2017, 10:58 AM

OOC Games:
Auburn (September 9th). Kent State, The Citadel (November 18th), at South Carolina (November 25th)

ACC Games:
Home: Boston College, Florida State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech
Road: Louisville, NC State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech

What We Know:
The SEC and SOCON schedules have been released, so we know the Auburn game will be Week 2 in Death Valley, The Citadel will be Home on November 18th, and South Carolina will be November 25th in Columbia. That most likely leaves Kent State as the Opener.

Past Schedule Release Dates:
2016 - January 26
2015 - January 29
2014 - January 22
2013 - February 25
2012 - February 27
2011 - February 14
2010 - February 04
2009 - February 12
2008 - February 08
2007 - January 24
2006 - January 25
2005 - January 20
2004 - February 02

A lot of people have been saying Louisville in week 3 due to the way that the other ACC OOC schedules line up. The only team that do not play an OOC that week are Us, UL, FSU and Miami. Doubt ACC would do Clemson FSU that early in the season and being that we do not play Miami that leaves either UL or a Bye.

Agreed. Think it'll be either a Saturday night game or Thursday night at UL week three. We won't play FSU until later October early November, doubt the ACC wants the Atlantic division champion decided so early in the year.

Thursday Night? Swofford, you have to at least make it SEEM like you're not running the ACC into the ground.

It'd be pretty tough to play @ UL on short rest following

Auburn. Certainly hope the league and ESPN work with us on that.

in Tally. For a few years it was Week 3 (or around Sept 20th) every year in Tally.

Because they want late season marquee matchups

with something on the line. Ideally FSU and Clemson play late with the division hanging in the balance.

I like the 7th / 8th game of the season timeframe for this.

It's deep enough where it's a premium game yet still some time to lick wounds and finish strong for the loser.

Don't want a bye that early!! Look at 2015 season for results-tired and injured in Bama game. 2016 with latter bye we were ready and fairly injury free.

So will the ACC screw us the golden goose? YES in a heartbeat.

realistically there's only 4 or 5 games that we don't have a 90+% chance of winning: Auburn, @UL, FSU and @VT, so I hope the bye comes before one of those, even if it's week 3. Preference for the bye:

1. Before Thurs road game (?)
2. Before toss-up road game (@UL, @VT)
3. Before FSU at home
4. Later is better than earlier

So if it's week 3 before going on the road against a divisional opponent and after a big matchup with Auburn, I think that's a lot better than later in the year before a home matchup with WF or Citadel, for example.

According to this, yes Kent State is the opener..

I believe everyone is missing the point here.

I think the big game the ACC and the powers that be don't want to see that early?

FSU - Miami

So that leaves two options. Clemson vs. FSU or Clemson vs. Bye.
