$20 per car at the Y Beach has been going on for a long time

Aug 18, 2015, 3:43 PM

And it's a hell of a lot cheaper that what I pay for IPTAY parking.

Kinda sucks, but it makes sense given all the parking lost to construction. Exiting that lot is an absolute nightmare as well.

Is Kite Hill still free?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Twenty bucks is a bargain for Gameday Parking

Aug 18, 2015, 5:15 PM [ in reply to So the $20 per car fee for public parking... is that part of ]

You could always park at a church in town and pay fifty bucks for a parking spot.

How are you supposed to get to Seneca if all traffic flow on

Aug 18, 2015, 3:52 PM

93 is 4 lanes east from Perimeter Rd to 76?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Anything you do is going to be inconvenience to someone

Aug 18, 2015, 4:01 PM

Can you get to Perimeter Rd.?
The left turn on 76 should move pretty quick

The Dude abides

you can take a left off of perimeter onto 93 to get out

Aug 18, 2015, 4:21 PM

towards Seneca--- if you are in lot 3 for example-- don't get on 93 by Esso as you'll be headed the wrong way and have to go the 76/123- instead cut over to perimeter through the parking lots/LJ roads(if they exist) and get on perimeter and take a left onto 93 headed toward the Y

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That cuts off an easy out from neighborhood parking

Aug 19, 2015, 12:46 PM

Oak St next to the Esso is where the 4-lanes-out used to start; at that intersection you could go left or right but then any further east on 93 it was 1-way out towards 76.

I often (or used to, I guess) park back in the neighborhoods so that postgame I can drive to Oak St (Esso), then take a right onto 93 to head towards Seneca easily. By moving that switch one block west to Perimeter, that option is gone. Tough to see how the move makes much of a difference to anyone else, either, unless I'm missing something.

In fact, if that right-turn is removed at Oak St, it will worsen bottlenecks throughout the neighborhoods by forcing EVERYONE not headed east on 93 back through to 123. Maybe they think that closing College Avenue at 93 and eliminating that northbound traffic will fix that?

None of this matters if the switch is not so strictly defined at Perimeter... we will see. Not optimistic here.

Next time, vote Jabba like you're supposed to.

The BUS/Shuttle lane to and from Y beach will really

Aug 18, 2015, 3:54 PM

encourage people to park there. Seeing a shuttle zip past all the cars in traffic will certainly make some people jealous.

it's usually a breeze getting in that way-- the bus/shuttle

Aug 18, 2015, 4:26 PM

parking may mess things up for the LOT 13 folks and other lots that come in that way as they will be losing a lane

Re: FB Update: Clemson announces plans to improve gameday traffic flow

Aug 18, 2015, 3:57 PM

Postgame - make Hwy 76 4 lanes eastbound to I-85!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The first 2 games will not be a good indicator if changes

Aug 18, 2015, 3:59 PM

for post game are an improvement with the games starting at 12:30. A lot of people will be staying to tailgate so everyone will not be leaving at the same time as would be for a night game.

Aug 18, 2015, 5:18 PM

tell you this. My mom has to use them, and every year during the first couple games, there's a ridiculous, RIDICULOUS wait on the buses. Sometimes up to an hour waiting on them to get through traffic and make it back to the stadium. You'd think after so many years of the same thing happening, they would notice and make some changes, but I guess not.

those. People always seem to think they can show up in Clemson an hour before the game for a noon-ish kickoff, and there's almost always a TON of traffic still stuck on the road cause so many arrive at once.

So basically... nothing new?

Aug 18, 2015, 4:35 PM

We park next to the mellow mushroom, and post game traffic on 93 has always been 4 lane eastbound from there on. Downtown traffic turns to a standstill either way, so closing off the road just means you won't get stuck there like I have in the past. Come early and leave late, always the best bet IMO!

So is there still parking at the golf course? It's not on the map and I've parked there for years.
