If Gene Smith is for it then it is bad. The guy is very shady. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/28608626/big-ten-athletic-directors-support-one-transfer-exemption

It can be both

SEC, for example, has stricter transfer rules within the conference than the NCAA. Have to abide by both sets of rules.

That plus a few more changes regarding the whole transfer process would be a great step forward.

Great idea. I'm all for it.

One free transfer, no need to notify current school when putting name in portal, current scholarship is protected until tranfer. (naturually there will need to be a yearly cycle, rules etc.)

That's what needs to be done IMO.

$Million coaches can change jobs at will. Hundreds, Thousand get rich off of CFB... I'm all for giving some protection and support changes that allow those who form the basis of the whole CFB Industry (the player) to maximize their 4 college years for THEIR benefit.

Just one more step in making the NCAA the official minor league of the NBA and NFL.

Making it easier to transfer is similar to free agency in the pros.

With each passing year the NCAA proves that education and academics are a necessary evil for them. If they could figure out how to get away with it and still make money they would make academics optional for the players.

yep when players can start being paid

its going to get worse..offering more to transfer will be the norm.
