Slow day question: Can anyone recommend a good weather

Jul 31, 2012, 9:25 AM

site with interractive radar that 1) doesn't download a virus, and 2) actualy works when I used it?

For whatever reason, the local TV channel websites are a disaster. Particularly, channel 4.

I said channel 4!!!

I live in Greenville, but have some land near Jocassee. I like to see if it's raining up that way...

Did I say channel 4 is pathetic?

Weather Channel - Desktop Max

runs on your computer and stays down in the taskbar until you click it. You can have up to 5 cities saved, good radar and maps, 45 hour extended forcast, etc. Cost $30 year...I think.

For smartphone I use weatherbug.

I second the Intellicast recommendation. The radar is

updated within 15 minute increments, shows a national loop which can be regionalized for greater detail, and doesn't get bogged down with bugs. It also offers excellent information, maps, and radar for tracking tropical storm systems.

I used to use it heavily to predict possible stoppages for a motorsports park in Florida and found it very reliable. It's always tough for summer storms because they tend to pop in and out in small areas, but it's easy to see a line of storms developing and know where they're headed.

If there's one thing I can speak with reasonable authority on, it's weather software.
