To avoid lawsuits. Or it may be if negotiations fall through to save Clemson from being embarrassment in front of God and the whole world. Its also possible that the Big12 would blackball us to get UL or another cheaper University to join.
There is also the likelihood that there have been no talks or Clemson is playing hardball with the ACC overlords. It might also be possible that the talk from our BOT amounts to no more than pacification of fans. If that is the case it's working on me now for I choose to believe it's the lawsuits.

because everything is being done in secret...when the time is right it will all come out. Deny any all involvement to the public. The BOT basically said that if we got a viable offer from another conference that they have a responsibility to listen to it.

Their duty is to the university, and they will act in the best interest of the university. There is no way that telling the fans any more than they have would be in the best interest of the university.
