walking in downtown Seattle with my Tiger Paw..,

Sep 22, 2017, 12:35 PM

...on my hat and someone stopped me and asked, "you go there?" I said that I used to and he proceeded to tell me that his cousin graduated from Clemson and how is whole family pulls for Clemson. Had a great chat and he even invited me to their house this weekend to watch the game with his family. MAN! Tiger fans are the best!!

Did you go to Pike's fish market and watch them throw fish?

I brought back 2lbs of Halibut on dry ice from there one time. it had been brought in the day before from Alaska. So good!!

Met this gamecock fan in Germany of all places, had her hold the flag for us. LOL Turned out, the boyfriend taking the picture was the gamecock fan, she was just wearing his sweat shirt. This was at Neuschwanstein.

The coolest place I ever had anyone stop me...

Sep 22, 2017, 1:49 PM

was in Berchtesgaden, Germany at Hitler's Eagles Nest.

A super nice family of Clemson fans stopped my wife and me, and we all had our photo take together which would later appear in the Orange and White. That was probably fifteen years ago.

The Germans that I ran across when I lived there that did not even have a clue what my cap was about all loved the PAW, regardless.

Many moons ago, the wife and I were taking the ferry to Vancouver

Sep 22, 2017, 2:11 PM

Island (not far north of Seattle) and standing atop the highest part of the ship looking for orcas in the bay. I had on a dark blue Clemson jacket with a paw on the pocket when a gentleman approached and asked a similar question---Were we from Clemson?? After a wonderful chat, he advised us his brother had coached there under Tommy West and that he'd visited there many times and loved the campus and the surroundings

Clemson truly does have a mystique all it own

There is now a Tiger Rag hanging on a bar ceiling in Aruba. The owner saw my shirt and asked if I was willing to donate memorabilia to his collection because we won the National Championship and they didn't have anything yet with the paw on it.

I've run into Tiger Fans in most all of the states. Also in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, England, Italy, France, Germany, Pakistan, Mexico and a few other places. I made a post on here about my putting Tiger Paws in about 35 Pubs in England. Anyone who goes in, sees the Paw and says it's a Clemson Tiger Paw gets a free beer. One of my English cousins has already won two beers.

It's pretty interesting how many people see a Clemson ring..

Sep 22, 2017, 9:12 PM

...and inquire. I've had folks look at it and say "I see you have a Clemson ring...." Very recognizable.

Brussels

Sep 23, 2017, 7:51 AM

In Brussels there was a sports bar a block from the EU headquarters that had pennants, scarves, etc., from football, soccer, pro and college, from around the world. The owner had come to love American football and catered to a lot of ex-pats who would come there to watch their favorite team. He asked my favorite team/school...told him Clemson....and he marched me to the end of the bar to sign the Clemson pennant. It's tradition to sign on your school/team colors there. Cool
