Devil's Advocate: Why would any stud RB consider Clemson?

Dec 8, 2012, 10:46 AM

Obviously Morris is dedicated to throwing the ball all over the place. The receivers we have in place/committed are outstanding & the running game often uses them in the sweeps & reverses. I've posted before wondering if AE regrets sticking around as his role was greatly reduced--McDowell & Howard get 3 or 4 carries each per game.
I'd be curious to hear what Dabo & Chad are telling these guys that he is recruiting about their role at Clemson?

Then let me rephrase my question. You didn't pay attention to much Clemson football this season, did you?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Do you watch college football? CU games?

Dec 8, 2012, 10:52 AM

If so, you'd know that a) we run the ball A LOT, and b) one dominant back doesn't cut it in MOST situation in college and in the pros.

Ellington had to stick around. He did not show he could catch the ball his junior year. This year he has shown he can. His draft status would not have been any better last year than this one.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

stupid computer....

Dec 8, 2012, 12:25 PM

Chad Morris wants to run the ball down the throat of the defense, but in all honesty we dont have the OL to do that, or the 215 pound bruiser of a RB that takes the contact to the defense to be able to do it like he wants to. I believe we will be doing more of that soon though with Tyshon Dye, plus the OL will be more experienced next year and the year after that.

When you have the talent at QB and WR that you do right now, its hard not to choose to throw the ball. If we were running the ball more, you'd be complaining about why any elite WR would want to come to Clemson

So you haven't heard have you. AE had over 1000 for the season even with the time he was out with injury, and playing through injury. But he didn't get the ball much, did he!!!

This year we have, 4 star Gallman, 4star Dye. 2014 High 4 star Cook who runs a 4.3 and is unreal good, just read front page and 4 star Oglesby out of Daniel who had 386 yards vs Seneca I saw in person and he is a stud.

Absurd comment. Just ridiculous.

Dec 8, 2012, 5:00 PM

We run more than we throw. We rush for almost 200 yards per game. We're #3 in the conference behind GT's option and FSU.

Why on Earth would AE regret coming back? It looks like it's going to work out great for him.
