I remember taking my son with me to vote when he was around 4 years old. He was relatively quiet while we stood in line, got checked in and as I cast my ballot. I was proud of the little dude just soaking it all in.

When we got back to the car I asked him what he thought about his first time going to the polls. He looked out the window and said, sadly, "I thought you said we were going BOATING."
