proven OC with a nice fat check from TAM. That's crazy talk right there my friend. That ship has sailed. Chad has a heck of a contract as an OC and a team that he can help take to another level. Good for him that he was on the shortlist for a couple of schools. He will get his shot soon enough.

your an idiot.
1. Chad isn't going anywhere for an OC position 2. TAMU going to pay close to 7 million for an OC they might not keep that long?

I believe his new contract says he can't move to be OC at any other program. Can only leave for head job or he'll pay a lot of money in buyout

chump change for $EC. plus it's his alma mater

he would make the lateral move in a heartbeat. A NC is worth 6 million to schools that are serious about winning.

You are crazy my friend. 6 million isn't worth a buy out for a coordinator that is looking for a head coaching job. How well did the Muschamp thing work at Texas? If TAM wants to give CU 6 million dollars, I would say go for it. You could go hire Kyle Shannahan from the Skins and make him the OC for a year with that 6 million for cryin' out loud.

Pay $6.5 million buy out. Then pay $1.5 million salary. For a guy that could turn around and take a HC job at the end of next year. 8 million dollars for a possible year contract...That makes a lot of sense. No way he would take this job. Johnny Football is not going to get another Heisman. TAM loses both starting tackles and a guard off their o-line. That is going to hurt them next year. If he is not in the running for the Heisman, the media will blame the new OC (CHAD) which will hurt his chances of landing a HC job.Chad is a lot smarter than this.

Not sure you've checked their roster lately, but they lose their center, not a guard, and another one of Bruce Matthew's offspring will be taking over next year. Not a given that the tackles will both leave, although it's more likely Joekel does than Matthews.
Do kid yourself, they're going to get pretty much any OC they want, but they are running Sumlin's offense so he could probably any guy wearing a polo there and be fine. Sumlin's last 3 OC's have been Holgerson, Phillips, and Kingsbury and he hasn't missed a beat after replacing either.

No other team is dumb enough to pay an OC that amount.

What I wonder though, is that Morris is only OC here, not Assistant HC or Associate HC. If A&M were to offer him OC plus Assistant HC, that's not technically a lateral move and would render the buyout null and void.

Nothing has ever been said about an ###. HC so I would say no. All I have ever heard was HC. $8 million for 1 and done! Go for it TAM. Can not wait to get that great laugh.
