these stupid headlight bulb clips are stupid, stupid, stupid

and so was the engineer that designed them.

As the guy who wrote this guy says, sometimes these pop right in and out for me. Did the driver's side of daughter's mazda a week or two ago, it was a pain, but still only took about 10 minutes. Then the passenger side one went out too, and I spent a good 30 minutes fumbling before I gave up for the day. We had people coming over. Now I'm watching a couple utubes to find the trick. Might need a bigger hammer.

I feel your pain with the Mazda 3.

The passenger side is a pain and it is hard not to touch the bulb while you do it. I ended up replacing the passenger side twice because I didn't get it set right the first time.

However, when you do get it set right, it feels right. I know that doesn't help at all but good luck.

on a Mazda 3, bumper must be at least partially removed to

remove the headlight assembly. Whose ideer was that?

Visiting son spent 20 minutes fooling with it before they left for Richmond, I'm gonna give it another shot after putting an ice pack on the ankle a bit. May have to (gasp!) pay somebody to finish installing it.

the bumper part was probably a design by repair shops

Just curious but have you read the owners manual?

Tight fit so bloody knuckles here and there but the clips have always worked well for me.

finally got it a while ago. Just popped right in place

somehow after much frustration. As I said, I've changed bulbs in other cars with similar clips with no trouble, and the driver's side on this car with just a little trouble.

clips when I used too much force. Same with internal door panel clips.
