Compliments are due CBB for the wins and in particular

really good offensive showings. There has been much bemoaning and wondering here about the offensive strategy. For whatever reason that strategy has changed drastically. Whereas our offense had been difficult to watch, these 2 games were very entertaining with successful results. Hope it stays the same. Way to go coach.

If you watch the base offense from a schematic standpoint it hasnt changed at all in structure. Thats not to say he hasnt added a wrinkle or 2, but the base offense we run hasnt changed. What has changed is the execution of the offense. The offense we run requires the players to play aggressive with and more importantly without the ball. Any hesitation or tentativeness in the passer or cutter basically shuts the offense down as it relies a lot on the swinging of the ball and timed cuts. What we saw to start the year was players playing passive/tentative/not confident and not attacking. This hesitancy caused the timing to be off and the ball just being passed around the key again and again and again till they were forced to shoot before the shot clock ran out. The past few games we have played with a lot more confidence and are attacking. The cutters are aggressively cutting to the basket and the guards are doing a good job finding them and hitting them with passes. The offense only looks like it changed cause we are running it correctly. If we continue to improve and stay attacking and confident, we could finish pretty strong. Im not seeing a NCAA bid at this point, but we could definitely secure a NIT bid with a strong finish, which would be fantastic for this years team.
