Right now it is just a proposal, and a way for him to get publicity. I do not see it getting very far, but I could be wrong. If it does pass the schools athletic department should pay for the statue and not the tax payers of the state.

Such a statue has absolutely no business being placed on the grounds of the Statehouse! Having researched and compiled an extensive history for the state government during the renovation and restoration I would strongly recommend a statue of Wilson be erected in front of Colonial Center where it belongs.
