Dumbest move ever. Tampa will NOT draw in more people***

Most of you.

But now the Gator Bowl doesn't have as firm a foundation to

Dec 12, 2007, 11:44 AM

stand on if they refuse to take the ACCCG loser (read: BC or GT)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They sure are betting on Miami and FSU***

Dec 12, 2007, 11:45 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

But the seats are red.

Dec 12, 2007, 11:44 AM [ in reply to Dumbest move ever. Tampa will NOT draw in more people*** ]

So if BC, Maryland, NCState, or VT (sort of red) make it, it will look full.

BRING IT!

Look at all those BC fans.

Dec 12, 2007, 11:47 AM

Sold out already.

BRING IT!

^^LOL^^

Dec 12, 2007, 11:53 AM

That was pretty good bw4!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Correct. The only way it makes money is if Clemson is in it***

I guess you didn't read...

...that there is a convention conflict next year with Charlotte regarding availability of hotels.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What convention is it? It had better be a fairly sizeable

Dec 12, 2007, 11:54 AM

one.

Here's a treat for that convention: Relocate to Tampa. Everyone wins.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let the convention go to Jacksonville or Tampa***

lets see, Jax has sucked. lets move the game even further south! sounds like a heck of a plan.

at minimum, set up a rotation. if he is dead set on florida, put a tampa - jax - charlotte - washington rotation. sometimes you'll get lucky with a local team, if he wants a centralized location - put the game in charlotte for good, build some community interest that will build year after year. that includes other sports, baseball, womens b-ball, soccer, etc. charlotte is centralized with no team right in its backyard.

Tampa is a joke - at least the stadium is smaller so the crowds will look bigger

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ALL IN!!

While I think Tampa is a poor choice.....

Dec 12, 2007, 11:56 AM

in fairness, the reason Jacksonville failed has as much if not more to do with the teams competing in the ACCCG than the location of the event.

The biggest problem is the ACC only has about three teams (Clemson, FSU and VT) whose fans travel really well all the time and another three or four teams whose fans travel marginally well (NCSU, UNC, UVA and Maryland) when their team are having good years. The others (GT, Wake, Dook, BC, and Miami) don't travel worth a crap ever.

Was at a huge function at Raymond James stadium last night..

Dec 12, 2007, 1:19 PM [ in reply to Swofford is a MORON ]

TREMENDOUS facility - - seats over 60k, easy parking for the most part, GREAT weather, lots of hotel options - Ybor City, on the beaches, St Pete . . . tons to do and see.

There is a reason the Outback Bowl is consistently voted one of the TOP non-BCS bowl destinations.

(Plus 45 minutes from my house doesn't hurt.)

GOTTA MAKE THE ACCCG TIGERS ! ! ! !

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

thats GD ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dec 12, 2007, 11:49 AM

Give it to Charlotte!!!!!!!!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It will ONLY be a sellout if Clemson, VT, or FSU make it in

I absolutely agree !!!!!

Dec 12, 2007, 11:59 AM

The ACC would have been better off leaving the game in Jacksonville rather than moving it further south to Tampa.

Honestly, you are exactly right...Too much talk of this considering we've never played in one.

Dec 12, 2007, 11:55 AM

How do we fix the attendance problem?

I got it...Lets move it further from most ACC schools and closer to the two teams that won't make the ACCCG in the next two years.

Bright side = we'll have variety for our trips!***

Dec 12, 2007, 11:57 AM

You can't even fill the lower bowl in Jacksonville, so let's move the game even further south.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Remind me, what ACC school other than Miami

Miami fans barely drive across town to see the games....

this is a much better destination than JAX. SO much more to do. You can make a vacation out of it. I went to the Outback last year and will be going again this year and it was a great trip. Clearwater is really close and has great places to stay.

It don't matter where it is held it will not be full unless

Dec 12, 2007, 3:12 PM
