FRIENDS, YOU WANT to know why we lost that game?

Oct 21, 2013, 6:59 PM

He!l, a blind man could see it!

We didn't look like a potent football team; we didn't act like a potent football team; we didn't play like a potent football team. We looked like deer caught in the headlights most of the evening. Why? A FAILURE IN DISCIPLINE...DISCIPLINE...the lack of which was pervasive right down from the top throughout the entire team.

It is time NOW...RIGHT NOW...for this team to march into Byrd Stadium Saturday and take control of that sonuvab!tching football game from the beginning and start KICKING AS$ES AND TAKING NAMES!

Enough of this goody-two-shoes, hand-holding, aw shucks mentality! It's time for this football team to stand up and account for themselves. To start knocking opponents on their behinds and ripping heads off!

When their linemen open their mouths with the cheesy-as$ed trash talk, REAR UP AND KNOCK SOMEONE ON HIS BUTT! When that receiver goes up for a pass, knock the b@stard off the field with a body slam he won't forget!

I don't give a hoot in he!l how many flags the Zebra b@stards throw, STAND UP AND ACCOUNT FOR YOURSELVES AND LAY THE FREAKING WOOD TO THOSE PEOPLE! We'll take the d@mn penalties AND STILL KICK THEIR MFing AS$ES FROM ONE END OF THAT STADIUM TO THE OTHER!

Then, when this game is over and you're asked how you contributed, you'll be able to say, "I KNOCKED SOME MARYLAND SONUVAB!TCH ON HIS AS$...I wasn't standing around with my thumbs up my butt!"

BY GOD, you have the talent; you have the training; you have the motivation! Now, show the Clemson Nation your true grit and lay a massive thrashing on those people...and every Clemson fan will be standing, cheering and clapping like we just won the national title!

FIGHT TIGERS FIGHT...D@MMIT...FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!!!!

teams that win championships on every level

have swagger, confidence, and natural leadership type personalities on both sides of the ball. You have to have talent but you can win with less talent if you have guys who absolutely DEMAND accountability from each other. We lack that mindset and I can only hope that some of our young talent has it in droves because we've had about 5 senior classes who don't have Dawk's, Levon's, MD Perry's, J. Bryant's, Keith Adams', Deandre's, A. Simmons', Leake's, Waters' personalities....you don't have to have it be your best talented players, but you have to have it from guys who start on both sides of the ball. We lack that big time. You can look at body languages and see that. A ton of talent and nobody is a type A that i can see.

The discipline I referenced results in the characteristics you mentioned.

Re: FRIENDS, YOU WANT to know why we lost that game?

Oct 21, 2013, 8:10 PM

I think you said it well but a bit too strong. It was hard to watch a team like we have mess around like they did. I am not saying Florida State was not good but we really stunk it up Saturday. I am a Clemson Grad who is ready for us to start doing just like you said. Been going to games since the 60's. We were not mean enough. Venables even said it. We were not as productive and we need to be a little more rough and tough I think. We should have at least tried another QB earlier. Tajh was not on this night. We have all had the days we are not as good as we normally are. Cannot understand why he was not benched for a while to get him settled down. It was a bad showing and we are better than we showed.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

TT, I spent three years on the sidelines at Clemson yelling

Oct 21, 2013, 8:19 PM

my behind off, four years as an Army officer disciplining and motivating troops and over 40 years in business motivating employees, and I believe in cutting to the chase and laying on the wood.

The last thing this team and the Clemson fans need right now is a bunch of hand-wringing, whining and crying over that d@mn game. What we all need is a swift kick on our as$es to stand up and be held accountable...accountable as coaches and team members...and accountable as loyal, dedicated Clemson fans ready to man the trenches for our men on the field!

And sometimes, my Friend, that requires some down-to-the-earth, blunt, tough-minded language!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My Friend, I think the lack of preparation for the game

Oct 21, 2013, 8:30 PM

evidenced itself in that lack of discipline I referenced. Of course, I was being somewhat facetious to a friend after the game, but I said, "I wish the staff had had our team jumping off that practice facility and hurdling themselves bodily at full force into the sides of that building" to toughen their minds and bodies!

Regardless, you are correct: it's all in the preparation!

Gonna get everyone's best game. Everyone wants to knock you down. This was a huge lesson that was learned the hard way. I kept screaming "fight tigers" to the top of my lungs (still hoarse) but I saw no fight with the exception of a few of course! We need to get nasty and play like there's no tomorrow. I just can't believe our boys let a team come in their house and disrespect them like that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

opinions of themselves or little at all. Our team has to search their own souls for the answers to Saturday's debacle. They have to be honest; then they have to take firm steps now...right now, to correct the problems. Time is of the essence....

not see some of how we "brought it" ?

We get tossed for illegal late and blatant hit on Winston....and our man bounced off him.

Another time Our safety comes up and gets run over like McDaniel crushing Ponder....

And yes...I did see our Dline pulling up on Famous instead of atleast giving him something in the ribs.

How about drilling that #80 over the middle ???? Make him pay....

And what about dropping a 300 lb DT back in coverage ??? REALLY????
