Full strength. He looked awesome yesterday. His targeting / roughing call was BS.
I know he came in with fresh legs in the second half but he looked as good as I’ve ever seen him. He will be a big asset for the rest of the season.
He will be able to come in with fresh legs again for the second half of the Notre Dame. I’ll Be looking for you XT

First of all, he did not "launch" but had jumped to block the pass and his momentum carried him into the QB, he appeared to lower his head (to the side) to avoid any "targeting"! Seemed obvious to me.

I agree. I thought the targeting call surely would be overturned on replay. I've seen a whole lot worse incidents that that, in just about every game I've watched.

Mascoli was not targeting, but XT was guilty as charged.

Targeting call was absolutely correct. Stupid move and unnecessary. Cost us an interception and possibly some points.

With it. He hit him with his chest.
I thought the roughing QB calls were over sensitive for both sides yesterday.

Wasnt the crown of his helmet but he launched off the ground, dropped his head and most importantly struck a defenseless QB in the head.Take your orange colored glasses off and imagine they hit Trevor in the same manner

In the head.
Maybe society has gone so soft But football happens fast. All the roughing calls yesterday were when the QBs were finishing their throwing motions.
It was an awkward sack. I’m sure he could have come lower and drilled him right in the chest instead. It wasn’t even that hard of a hit...

Getting the pass away. In doing so it causes an awkward result. I thought all 3 roughing/targeting calls were total BS

as I recall there was one each way that probably weren't roughing. that said given all the qb publicity for the game the refs had to be mindful of it and keep guys safe. Its a sham their zeal cause them to forget blatent hold and how a lateral or backward pass looks

You can’t stop when the QB is just releasing the ball.

I also though he jumped. He didn’t spear the guy.
I just watch the end of the Steelers game and Minkah Fitzpatrick would have been called for targeting based on you guys rules. Guess what? No call.

Contact in the case of targeting.
Helmets did touch but not in a way that isnt normal on any play.
Looks like he jumped, yes, lowered his head, but then fell on the guy like a wrassler coming off the top rope.
I dunno if that would have been called against another player. The fact that it was on a qb sealed the deal for the targeting call.

He was coming down when he hit the QB. Not like the Nick Fairley / Kyle Parker spear that never was called and that the rule is designed for.

No "launch", just jumping to block pass.

You didn't ask for it, but here's my take on it.
I also loved having him back but I don't think he's coming off the ball quite as quick as he was last year. But, he's getting there.
Targeting was the correct call, as per the rules. His "launch" I didn't think was a "launch", so to speak. It looked like a jump to try to block the pass and when that didn't happen, he lowered his head which, unfortunately, caused the helmet to helmet contact.
On the previous play he recorded a sack. I imagine that probably fired him up. Then, the very next play he gets a wide open shot at the QB. I ain't blaming him, I love the enthusiasm. Just need a little restraint due to the rules.
I got an XT jersey because his sack on Eric Dungey is one of my favorite plays in recent history.
Keep your head up, XT!! Literally.
