All of this talk about taking a first pitch, guessing what pitch or location is coming is B.S. and has no place in baseball except for people who think they know better than the basics of baseball. All of that advice is hogwash and heresy.

You get 3 strikes.... make 'em count. Those 3 chances are the opportunity to get on base, which is the most important thing..... you can't score until you get on base.

What is more important than anything in hitting is to learn to judge the strike zone. If it's a strike, hit it...... if it's a ball, let it go..... 4 balls is as good as a single except it can't advance a runner more than one base.

Get a good eye and learn to let the bad ones go and hit the good ones, no matter where they are in the count..... you get 3 chances to hit one...... take it when you get it, but don't waste it.
