This speaks very highly of Wiggins

Aug 16, 2013, 12:56 PM

I heard Kearse was expected to back up the NB position with Martin Jenkins even though, like Blanks last year, safety was his eventual destination. If they can put him back there now and trust Wiggins at the NB position he really has been busting his tail. I believe that 4-5 dbs will avoid a RS and it's looking like it'll be Alexander, Kearse, Wiggins and Johnson with Tankersly being on the bubble.

+1. I agree with every one of your calls and Tank makes it.***

Glad we've got the talent now

But I can't wait for the day when we can afford to redshirt most of these new DB recruits. Talk about a rude awakening in making the jump from highschool, where they were all the fastest on the field.

I think the secondary is extremely unforgiving to inexperience, since you're trying to cover freakishly fast WRs without knowing where they're going. We saw this a little bit last year when the backups were pushed into service because of the injuries.

At least this year we have some experience at the #1 spots. Knock on wood about the injury bug, though.

I miss the days of Miller, Hill, Hamlin, McDaniel, Pugh...

Fudge, Butler, Gilchrist, Sensabaugh, Maxwell, Clemons, and Chancellor. We had a bunch of really good DBs on the roster up until a couple years ago.

May those days return soon!***

still weird to me that Jones, Steward, and Shuey are at WILL

Aug 16, 2013, 1:40 PM

All of those guys seem more like MIKE backers, while the guy we've got playing MIKE seems more like a WILL. I guess the coaches know those positions better, though.
