speaking of trucks

Dec 5, 2018, 10:38 AM

badge-donor-05yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-conservativealex.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They have golf cart mode and that alone is reason to

Dec 5, 2018, 10:39 AM

boycott them. If they stop putting all of this #### on vehicles that nobody wants and I'll consider it. I do like the idea of the small Powerstroke, though.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg2005_majors_champ.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-xtiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If you've never owned a truck and don't really need a truck

Dec 5, 2018, 10:43 AM

Get a tacoma like all of the other guys who don't own a truck or need a truck, just getting one because it looks cool.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm just sick of asking everyone for theirs to haul ####

Dec 5, 2018, 10:43 AM

around.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg2005_majors_champ.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-xtiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well you're not going to be able to haul much in a Tacoma***

Tacoma..that's just turrible.

Dec 5, 2018, 11:34 AM [ in reply to If you've never owned a truck and don't really need a truck ]

turrible.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Father in law has a 2017 with the off-road package.

Dec 5, 2018, 11:37 AM

If I sit in the front seat and adjust the seat for someone to be able to sit behind me, my knees are in the dash. My truck feels like a stretch limo next to it.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I had a 2010 off road edition

Dec 5, 2018, 11:43 AM

It rode like a wagon, and got worse gas mileage than full size truck. When I was alone in it, it felt crowded, and it was a crew cab.

I don't understand the allure of the things. And all that talk about resale is crap. I paid like $30K for it, tried to sell it for a while and got no bites, and ended up trading it a year later and got like $23K for it. It seems the the most drivers of those things are UDP Wando High school kids and air force guys that paint all the emblems and wheels black.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think my golf cart mode broked

Dec 5, 2018, 10:42 AM [ in reply to They have golf cart mode and that alone is reason to ]

Hasn't activated in a while, but I also haven't really been stuck in a lot of traffic recently.

Did they put golf cart mode on the V8's?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yes***

Dec 5, 2018, 11:33 AM

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Golf Cart Mode?

Dec 5, 2018, 10:43 AM [ in reply to They have golf cart mode and that alone is reason to ]

is this where you load up a cooler, pool toys, and 2.4 children....and then drive 200ft up to the neighborhood pool?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes. That would be my neighbors. I'm NOT that guy

Dec 5, 2018, 10:46 AM

My kids have to walk and carry all their stuff.

I've thought seriously about getting a mule though. It can function as a golf cart, but you can also take it deep in the woods and toss a deer in the back. Would be more useful than a 4-wheeler.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The biggest issues I see with a mule

Dec 5, 2018, 10:52 AM

are having the room to build a corral with a stall, and the ongoing vet bills.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The Ranger 570 crew would be my first choice

Dec 5, 2018, 11:20 AM

Although a golf cart would probably do it. They'll go a lot of places that would surprise you.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK, I'll make a note to myself.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Its shuts off the engine when you come to a complete stop

Dec 5, 2018, 11:55 AM

Push the gas pedal and it cranks back up again.

Supposed to save gas. Not sure about starters though. It seems like it'd be dangerous to me; its certainly annoying.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's annoying

Dec 5, 2018, 12:01 PM

which is why there's a button to disable it (and, as I've learned, it's disabled by default when the transmission is in sport mode)

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I've also read if you leave a trailer wire converter in

Dec 5, 2018, 12:03 PM

it will stay on but says "tow haul" mode on the dash.

I dunno man. I've had a Ford before. That was enough.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't know what your choice is going forward.

Dec 5, 2018, 1:28 PM

I saw the new Denali yesterday with the 12 way tailgate. Honest to goodness looks like a 125% scale Honda Ridgeline.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems like almost all new cars do that***

Don't know.

Dec 5, 2018, 12:08 PM

My 2018 GMC doesn't.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dec 5, 2018, 10:45 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Got a 2018.

Dec 5, 2018, 11:23 AM

Love it.

Comfy and hauls azzzzz.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thinking of buying another diesel.

Dec 5, 2018, 11:35 AM

No need for it. I just have a small #### and a lifted 4x4 diesel helps my self esteem.

Re: speaking of trucks

Dec 5, 2018, 11:38 AM

1999 with 225,000 miles. Looks a little rough but still hauls my crap around. Nothing but oil changes. Replaced the spark plug wires a few years ago, brakes replaced around the same time and had the front end realigned.

Love having an old truck to kick around in on the weekends.
