Effect the General election because they knew North Carolina would be a major battleground state. Those of you who believe otherwise are naive.
I, personally, stand with McCrory on this item. He just happened to be the poor guy that had to deal with such a ridiculous left wing effort.
Also, the NCAA and ACC leadership need to quit pandering to the special interest groups.

President Obama is an inspiration for many Clemson players_

past, present and future.
It baffles me why some folks think it is in Clemson's best interest to denigrate President Obama on this sports forum.
Many Clemson fans got very upset last Saturday with "racist" allegations against Clemson. The under tones to the original post can give the wrong appearance. Perhaps that is not the intent - but things are taken out of context. At an individual level, perception can become reality.
Every person's has the right to their political opinions. It is unfortunate that some folks see the need to bring their politics to this sports Board - especially stated in a way that can easily be misconstrued.

charge. Some of the stuff he's done with schools using Title IX to claim that perceived gender identity is protected is major overreach. HB2 is the kind of response that should be expected to that kind of extremism, exemplified by the Charlotte Mayor and board.

HB2 is a bad law.

The overreach in this law is almost comical. Under the guise of protecting children in bathrooms from trans predators (which doesn't happen), they snuck in provisions to restrict minimum wage increases, and prevent new anti-discrimination regulations at the local level.
This has zero, zip, nada to do with the Obama administration. It's entirely about NC republicans limiting the ability of cities like Charlotte to govern themselves, under a headline of fabricated threats toward children.

Also, it doesn't "prevent new anti-discrimination regulations at the local level," it just prevents them from going beyond the state anti-discrimination law. That should be welcome for people who don't want to be burdened with the threat of lawsuits for protecting people's privacy in sex separate facilities, or for not referring to people by their preferred pronoun.
This has zero, zip, nada to do with protecting transgendered people. It's entirely about Charlotte Democrats forcing their values on everyone else, under a headline of fabricated threats toward LGBT people.
