So espn says UM has the highest strength of schedule?!

Nov 21, 2017, 7:27 PM

Please tell me how? They played their toughest games at home. Who the hell was ranked that they played? ND? Anyone else?

no, strength of RECORD

Nov 21, 2017, 7:31 PM

that's a different deal.

Miami has #32 SOS, Clemson #11

Re: no, strength of RECORD

Nov 21, 2017, 7:37 PM

SOS: Strength of schedule played, from perspective of an average FBS team.

SOR: Strength of record - Reflects chance that an average Top 25 team would have team's record or better, given the schedule.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's a typo

Nov 21, 2017, 7:39 PM [ in reply to Re: no, strength of RECORD ]

It's not what they said verbally on the show.

Strength of Resume

Nov 21, 2017, 8:13 PM

Correct... they stressed Strength of Resume for MIA.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They said Strength of RECORD not Strength of Schedule

Nov 21, 2017, 7:32 PM [ in reply to So espn says UM has the highest strength of schedule?! ]

They do according to their metrics. Clemson has the highest SOS of any team in the top 6 (once again according to their metrics).

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 7:36 PM

What changed between now and last week?

I knew we shouldn’t have let the Citadel score 3 points... when will Dabo learn that the score can influence the committee’s decisions?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 9:39 PM

Fact is, we shouldn't play The Citadel, nor other non-factor teams. I know others do, but it never can help us, but it really can hurt, and even though we soundly whipped them, it only served to hurt us. Now, were we an secheat team, it wouldn't have mattered, but for the rest of us, it surely seems like it does.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not really concerned if Clemson is 2 or 3, but

Nov 21, 2017, 7:54 PM

I think this makes the committee look wishy-washy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not really concerned if Clemson is 2 or 3, either, win!

Nov 21, 2017, 8:02 PM

The committee, like all committees, are wishy-washy and generally $uck!

To anybody other than an secheat fan from whence Mark Richt came.

They are wishy washy. Alabama played Mercer and was not punished.

See what horns when you change up your #2? Hahaha

I don't have a problem with being 3rd but they should've done it last week.***

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 8:16 PM

I'm really not paying one bit of attention to these playoff rankings bc, we have to beat Usuc and Miami before the playoffs begin. If we beat the coots, then we have to beat Miami in the ACCCG. Nothing can happen before we play and beat those two teams, Period!!! Gooo Tigersss!!!

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 9:44 PM

While I do agree, it is disrespect. That probably will serve as motivation for us. I hope so, because we just got dis'ed! I hope we open up "a can" on all opponents the rest of the season and show the world that we do not have to take a back seat to anybody. We do deserve respect. I hope our team takes this personally.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

so after we beat #24 USuCk, UM struggles against Pitt

Nov 21, 2017, 8:49 PM

And Awbarn beats Bammer, we move to #1

This is PERFECT!!!!

Nov 21, 2017, 9:41 PM

Everything is coming together nicely. We beat the chickens and go into the ACC championship as a 3 vs 2 makes me happy. Gives us the fuel. Just what we need. This is a gift from the BCS.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 9:42 PM

Just what we needed gives us the fire to go and beat a ranked coot team and go into the ACC championship and take out Miami .

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Nc St loss is why

Nov 21, 2017, 9:43 PM

NC ST losing and dropping out of the top 25 gave us 2 top 25 wins (VT and Auburn) vs 3 the previous week. Miami has 2 top 25 wins (VT and ND) and 0 losses. Not sure where the outrage is coming from. Literally changed nothing. I'm just grateful we're still able to control our destiny.

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 10:07 PM

If anything, we should be delighted. South Carolina is at 24 and the committee has set a precedent of not punishing teams for losing to top 4 teams. This adds another ranked victory to our resume. It doesn't matter in the end though. Beat Miami and we're in.

Re: TNET: Clemson moves down in latest CFB playoff rankings

Nov 21, 2017, 10:29 PM

Win we’re in. These rankings don’t mean much etc except one thing, the final rankings will reflect what a tough schedule we’ve had.

FWIW, the b1g has zero wins against ranked teams not in the conference. B12 has one, Oklahoma over an overrated tosu.

When we get to the playoffs, we’ll have beaten the toughest competition... the acc and imo the best in the sec in awburn.

No sweat. Just play our game at Carolina and carry the W in Charlotte. We'll be # 2 by acclimation. Even #1 if the Tide loses tommorrow. Like our position and chances.
