Yes it was. I'd like someone to explain why this wasn't the same? Did the rule change?

I believe after 10 yds it does not matter who touches the ball first. The only thing that could be questionable is if the kicking team interferes with a receiving player who is trying to catch the ball. But, in our case, it does not matter. Nobody was interfered with as we were not within 100 miles of the ball after it left the kickers foot.
