The pacifier being eliminated

May 9, 2020, 2:19 PM

is much much harder for my daughter. Our son was totally cool with it, she is being a terror.

Any tips and tricks from other parents. We took them all to the pacifier tree and hung them up. Got her a new frozen blanket. So we have attempted to make this as easy as possible.

My parents got some of that stuff you put on nails

to quit biting them when beating me didn't work.

But that was 55 years ago so might not be acceptable today.

No issues with the first boy. Second was a little tougher.

Asked Mrs.7spots cause I couldn’t remember. According to her he eventually gave it up because he got a nasty little cold and couldn’t breathe with it in his mouth. After a couple days, he was done with the pacifier.

Too early for a teething ring?

Or too late? How old are we talking about?

Start by threatening to take it for good when they misbehave. They will keep misbehaving. Take it for good. They will behave. But they'll also forget about it too. ;)

Tell her the dog ate it. They’re brains can’t reason that you could buy another one. She’ll accept that the dog ate it and it’s gone forever. Still will be hard, but she won’t be begging for it. My son’s teeth went from being crooked to perfect in a short period of time when we took his away.

The next day he voluntarily tossed all of his pacifiers in the trash can.

He also has a basket on his bike, so there’s that.

Shame her into being a big kid.
