That play lives on forever . Rainy and miserable . We looked like dogs up until Gaines housed that thing .
What a turnaround . What great speed for a big man .

Think it was 66 or 67 yards , but no less tremendous to watch . Best part for me is how he blew up the kick holder who was panicking and trying to run with it .
Gaines caught it out of the air after popping the dude and the rest as they say is history .

I was there freezing my butt off and the Tigers playing like crap.
I told my wife if they hit this FG let’s go.
After that play it was one of the best 4th quarters ever with me at the game.
I believe WF was undefeated and this was billed as their biggest home game ever.

Didn’t know IF we’d won so when we went into a restaurant, ironically two men leaving had WF caps on, so i asked about game and they said in a irritating way that Clemson was lucky to have won.
I grinned!
