It's nearly impossible to win back to back national

championships in college football (unlike baseball, which is much easier). And on paper, the 2016 Clemson football team is more likely to win the national championship than the 2015 team. These two points are well documented.
With that said, should Dabo & Co consider pumping the brakes a little on this season? If, and this is a big if, but if we win the national championship this season, that puts the more talented 2016 Tiger team at a distinct disadvantage. It may be better to set ourselves up for a run in 2016, than to risk having to overcome overwhelming odds in order to win it all two seasons in a row.
I'm a "pumper", but I think two in a row may be too much to ask for.

Win this week. Win this season. What's next will take care of itself. I'd rather go all out now than worry about next year. There are no guarantees with recruiting, injuries, staff turnover, etc.
This team may turn out stronger than 2016 - if for no other reason than all of the guys who may leave early.

I agree. After running the table, Clemson nation should lobby for a two loss sec team to take their place in the four team play off and use the bowl practice to prep for 2016 while not caring to actually play the game to win. That should meet the criteria to start off on top of the preseason poll.

Even if it was the correct strategy to "pump the brakes" on the 2015 season in favor of the 2016 season (which it clearly is not), how would you do that? Tell the players to be almost all in? Tell them they can touch the rock if they just give 80%? Call the wrong plays on purpose? Bench the ones in favor of playing the twos? NUTS!!! This qualifies as the dumbest post I have ever seen. PEDAL TO THE METAL!!
