once again

Aug 19, 2012, 7:23 PM

The dude is reporting FSU to the BIG12. This time with Louisville. I actually have learned to dismiss everything this idiot says, but, if this was to happen I do not believe it would spell the end of the ACC. As long as Clemson and Vatech could remain at a national level the conference will be just fine. Who, though, would be a viable replacement?

I think it would be a big loss to the ACC if Florida St left. I hate to say this but the ACC doesnt have that many teams that can compete with other teams outside of our converence, but I hope that will change in the upcoming years.

GO ACC
GO TIGERS

How many teams can say that? Less than 25% of the nation?

Reached #5 last year before our late season meltdown, won ACC title, played in BCS bowl, starting this season at #14. So I would say yes, as long as we continue to win and stay on our current upward path.

I think tt98 is confusing "elite" w/ "national level"...

Aug 19, 2012, 8:06 PM

We're not among the elite, not yet, but we most certainly are a nationally recognized football program, just like you said.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the context of the original post, i.e. being flagship teams

Aug 19, 2012, 8:52 PM

to keep a conference viable, would imply the original poster defined it the same way I am, the only problem is he was wrong in that we have no been national (as he called it, elite as you are calling it) hence the ACC's problems. Thats my entire point.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right,, you think elite is what he meant...

Aug 19, 2012, 9:01 PM

But it wasn't. Clemson and VT have plenty of national respect and with the right season could play for a national title just as easy as anyone.

if FSU leaves without us then we are DOOMED FOR SURE! NO WAY THE acc remains even where it is now

I've said it before and I still feel the same way.

Aug 19, 2012, 8:58 PM

I have a strong feeling that people's opinions of what the ACC is now and what the new Big 12 is like will be much different at the end of the season. The Dude might be happy about the move and think WVU's in one of the top conferences, but I just think they lost too much and didn't get enough back in return. I also think the ACC is really going to surprise some people. Just my opinion though.

Agreed***
