Well boys, it’s been a good ride

Dec 2, 2019, 7:48 AM

My MIL broke her kneecap the other night. She’s been our free child care since day 1 of parenthood for us.

She’s out of commission for a bit.

Mrs Fluff starts a new job tomorrow in a school so she’ll be out of the house early.

Starting tonight and for the next couple of weeks, I’ve gotta go to bed early and wake up early to get both kids fed, dressed and out the door to school on time.

On Wednesday when fluff jr isn’t in school, I get to stay home with him until Mrs Fluff gets home from work.

I finally have to be a real parent and I’m kinda scared.

NyQuil.

Lilfluff won't wake up until 10 am then hit it with another round of benadryl.

You're good until 3 when the wife comes home.

And the kid will be well rested and happy to see her.

Win/Win

I like your funny words magic man

Good luck getting anything done at your real job

Takes me at least two hours to recover after getting my 2 & 4 yr old kids ready and to school in the morning.

Pro tip: reading jounge posts makes the recovery easier

The road goes on forever and the party never ends...

Mine 4.5 and 2.5 and what you mentioned

Dec 2, 2019, 8:30 AM

Is exactly what I fear. Luckily I’m in sales and can be really flexible.

In full disclosure I’m pretty positive my wife and MIL don’t trust me with the kids. I’ve been alone with them for maybe 2 hours max. Ever.

For example, she suggested today that I may text my neighbor to do daughter’s hair tomorrow AM.

Good luck. Just know it could be worse.

Like getting three up and dressed, with breakfast and lunches made, then taking all three to two different schools, one of which doesn't start till 9am.

That sounds brutal

Dec 2, 2019, 9:45 AM

Half the intent of the thread was to commiserate with other joungers doing the same

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm trying to make you feel better about your situation

Dec 2, 2019, 11:28 AM

Everything is relative. I'm sure there are some who have it worse than me. So I'm patientbear waiting for one of them to chime in.

Or more-so the hectic ness and structure that scares me. I’ve been very free to do as I please. I need the structure, but it does scare me.
