best DBs to ever play the game, but probably one of the best players to ever play D period. True leader and consistent elite performer on the field for a long time.

Brian Dawkins is one of the only safties that could play at all three levels of the field: blitzing the qb, in the box for run protection, and covering the pass. They look at his interceptions but don't realize those other safeties drop back 90% of the time while he puts up his numbers spending half the amount of time in coverage. 26 sacks. Convenient how they glossed over how Reed, Sharper, Polamalu et. al are still stuck in single digits.

Ed Reed: Never had 100+ tackles in a season, averages 54.8.

Darren sharper has also only did this once.

Polamalu has also never had 100+ tackles, although he has 90+ 3 times.

John Lynch only did it 3 times, but didn't reach 90 any other season. Also Dawkins has played in exactly one more season and has 80 more total tackles than Lynch.

Terrible stats I say.
