Not disgusting to me. Our strategy since WW2 to pay for peace has worked. 100 billion people have walked this Earth and you won, with 7.5% odds, the opportunity to live in the most peaceful time in history. And you whine because it costs you a couple dollars.
You know what's the most disgusting thing I've seen all week? A president threatening Civil War. That was disgusting.

The total foreign aid we pay all countries on the planet is around 5% of our yearly DEFICIT. Or put another way, it's about 13% of the INTEREST we pay on our debt. Each. Year.

You know what's the most disgusting thing I've seen all week? A president threatening Civil War. That was disgusting.
Unfortunately, that just isn't true. More civilians have died in war since WWII. The U.S. itself has been involved in 19 military actions since WWII.
In all the wars of the world since the end of WWII, more civilians have died than IN WWII. Tragic but true.

40 million civilians died in WWII. I guess since then we had Rawanda, Nam, Cambodian genocide, wars in the Middle East. World War II was a condensed time though. Outside of the Muslim countries, the world has been pretty safe and "peaceful" for the last, what, 40 years? Amirite?

yes, and they use a lot of that money to turn around and buy weapons from us, so in a way it is almost like handing out money to US military contractors.
