I think scoring 35 on us was a mic drop moment for the coots

Nov 27, 2018, 4:40 PM

I doubt anyone shows up for their game against Akron. I think they want to remember the season just as it ended with our game, a 21 point loss.

It was a fairy tale finish for sure. The thing loser dreams are made of.

I think they are expecting about half capacity.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Letting them score 35 was intentionally done in hopes the chickens would extend Muscoots contract.

And 4 or 5 plays, alone,

Stood between the actual score and what could have been 77-21, very easily. It doesn't take much to make a result tight...or a blowout.

I totally agree. This game was closer than most expected, and I believe our coaches may have developed our defensive game plan to make it that way. Why else would we come back out the 2nd half and use the same defensive formations and schemes we used 1st half? No adjustments at half time? Makes no sense, unless it was intentional. Our coaches knew we could score at will, so I believe they intentionally let the ##### score a few easy points just to make it appear we are softer in the defensive secondary than we really are, playing a little game with our eventual CFP opponents. Player placement seemed to be the most obvious problem, crowding the box against a team with no ground attack threat. Coach Venables is much smarter than was displayed Saturday. I hope it was just a charade.

The other obvious equalizer was the SEC officiating crew making critical calls that kept the game much closer than it really was.
