Not the grand jury’s call but ...

the “no knock” policy including authorization seem to be somewhat if not extensively flawed. Guessing about 9 out of 10 Lungers would come out of bedroom armed in similar circumstances. An armed conflict seems almost guaranteed. LE executing the warrant are in a helluva position.
The one guy charged seems about right.

Just read a similar account that LE announced
Sep 23, 2020, 5:16 PM
|
|
and confirmed by DA.’s investigation. Apparently LE had a “no knock” warrant. Boyfriend who shot cop said he didn’t hear announcement. Door was busted down. All hell broke loose at that point.
What’s weird to me is that boyfriend in Apartment was not the drug dealer (a previous friend) ... the guy associated with drug dealing was apparently arrested earlier that day?

What exactly makes her boyfriend a criminal? From all accounts, he was a licensed gun owner.

They're going to riot because it wasn't a murder charge
Sep 23, 2020, 3:18 PM
|
|
but if it was a murder charge, they couldn't prove it and the guy walks, there would be a bigger riot

Wrong.
Decisions like these should be based on emotion, not on the facts.

through them on the ground one by one or did his clip allow for them to all be dumped on the ground at the same time?

I agree w you.
NYT daily podcast has had excellent reporting about the facts of the situation. It’s a tragedy that this happened, and raises questions about police conduct in general, but the two officers in the doorway that returned fire were justified. Should they have been there? Is it fair that Taylor was killed? What would I do if someone beat down my door at night and I didn’t know it was police?
People are upset, but there is no individual here to blame. It’s just a tragedy.

After what I heard the past couple of days
Sep 24, 2020, 8:16 AM
|
|
I knew no charges were coming. Until this week I did not know that
1. The officers were shot at. 2. Taylor did have some connection to the man they were looking for. 3. Apparently some witnesses said the officers did announce themselves.
This was an operation gone horribly wrong. Heads need to roll due to it all, but any criminal trial would have been a pointless endeavor. Hopefully it brings about changes in how departments go about their business.
